• Grete's Christmas Nut Cookies - In honor of my Mom, here is a favourite family recipe that is good for any time of the year. Since it's a refrigerator dough, it can be kept in the freezer - readily available should unexpected guests arrive (or if you just need some quick, warm cookies on a frosty afternoon).

Veggies:

• Baked Squash with Savory Vegetarian Stuffing - with a house full of boys, I can guarantee that even non-vegetarians will come back for seconds.
  

Jams & Jellies:

• Home-made Cranberry Jelly - very quick and easy. Once you've tasted this home-made version, you'll never go back to canned.
